Gary W. Davis serves as an advisory director for the Firm’s Oklahoma City office. His legal experience is in oil and gas, energy, litigation and trial, and commercial transactions law. Mr. Davis brings over 40 years of legal knowledge to the corporation, and has advocated many cases in front of U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. He’s received many honors and awards, including being listed in The Best Lawyers in America for business litigation and natural resources law, as well as Who’s Who Legal and Bet-The-Company Litigation.
In addition to practice, Mr. Davis has held key positions for several of the professional associations and memberships he’s been involved with over the years. He was a dual director for both the National Petroleum Refiners Association and the American Petroleum Institute in the late seventies. Before that, Mr. Davis was also president of the Washington County Bar Association in 1965.
As a writer, Mr. Davis’ published works on the oil and gas industry are highlighted by a chapter he contributed for a West Group and American Bar Association publication in 1998. His other notable works were published in 1983 in both the Oil and Gas Analyst and The Oil Daily.
Mr. Davis received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas (B.A., 1953; J.D., 1957), where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. His written works were recognized as well, as he was on the Kansas Law Review Board of Editors, and was named “Outstanding Senior Writer” his senior year.
