Crowe & Dunlevy Attorney, Dean Stringer, Recipient of the Neal E. Bogan Professionalism Award

Crowe & Dunlevy attorney, L.E. “Dean” Stringer, received the Neal E. Bogan Professionalism Award of the Oklahoma Bar Association for 2005. The award recognizes Mr. Stringer’s role in promoting professionalism in Oklahoma and cites, in particular, his teaching young lawyers “the right way to do things.” The OBA noted that Mr. Stringer showed young lawyers "how to advocate for their causes without compromising integrity or courtesy."

A 1958 graduate of Oklahoma State University and a 1961 graduate of Harvard University Law School, Mr. Stringer joined the firm of Crowe & Dunlevy in 1961, becoming a partner in 1968. Mr. Stringer previously served as President and Chairman of the Litigation Department of Crowe & Dunlevy for many years prior to his retirement.

The award also recognizes Mr. Stringer’s involvement in many civic and community organizations. Among other endeavors, Mr. Stringer served as a member and then chairman of the Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges which include Oklahoma State University and Langston University, among others. Mr. Stringer also served on the Board of Governors and as chairman of the Oklahoma State University Foundation, as president of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association and as the president of the Friends of the Library at Oklahoma State University. He was active in the Lawyers Club of Oklahoma City and the Young Lawyers Conference of Oklahoma. Mr. Stringer currently serves as the chairman of the board of Youth Services for Oklahoma County, Inc.

Mr. Stringer has previously received the Distinguished Alumni Award of Oklahoma State University, the Alumni Hall of Fame Award of Oklahoma State University and the Edna Mae Phelps Award of the Friends of the Library at Oklahoma State University.
