Oklahoma Corporation Commission
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission regulates substantially all of the exploration and production phases of the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma. Crowe & Dunlevy’s oil and gas regulatory practice before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission includes representation of both applicants and protestants in hearings relating to:
- drilling and spacing units
- increased well density
- well location exceptions
- compulsory pooling
- compulsory unitization
- enhanced recovery projects
- allowables
- field rules
- pollution and environmental matters
Although the Firm's regulatory practice attorneys are part of the Natural Resources Group, they also work closely with Crowe & Dunlevy’s Litigation and Environmental attorneys.
Historically, Crowe & Dunlevy has been at the forefront of attorneys practicing before the Corporation Commission. Today, two of its lawyers, Jim George and Paul Trimble, continue the Firm's reputation as leaders in the oil and gas regulatory field. Jim George has practiced, on a daily basis, before the Corporation Commission for over 45 years. He has drafted or participated in drafting a large number of the Commission's oil and gas rules and regulations. He has also assisted in drafting various statutes relating to the Commission's oil and gas regulatory authority.
