Crowe & Dunlevy recently announced the selection of Margaret Millikin as co-chairman of the firm’s intellectual property practice group.

In her new role, Millikin will join David Sullivan, who also serves as co-chair, in presiding over the intellectual property practice group as it continues its growth and success.

“Margaret and David’s intellectual property expertise is unrivaled, and I know they will contribute much to the future success of the firm,” said Roger A. Stong, president of Crowe & Dunlevy.

Millikin’s practice encompasses intellectual property law, including IP transactional matters and litigation. She represents large, international clients as well as small business owners and individual inventors.

Millikin helps clients create strategies for managing intellectual property as business assets and managed the global intellectual asset portfolios for several international businesses. She addresses intellectual property issues in business transactions and has led the intellectual property function on multi-national acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, while addressing technology related matters, including export control and IP tax strategies.

Millikin serves as vice president of professional development for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Oklahoma Northeast region.

Sullivan is a registered patent attorney and has served as co-chair of the intellectual property practice group since 2008. His practice is primarily directed at obtaining and enforcing patent rights for his clients, which range from Fortune 500 companies to small start-ups with emerging technology.

With a background in chemical engineering, Sullivan has significant experience in the energy-sector, with a particular emphasis on downhole equipment, secondary production, well stimulation and refinery technologies. Sullivan also devotes a significant portion of his practice to intellectual property licensing and other transactional matters. He routinely assists clients with the negotiation of software licenses, consulting contracts and IP due diligence investigations.
