OKLAHOMA CITY – The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation recently selected Crowe & Dunlevy attorney Karen Rieger as a Fellow of the foundation.
The American Bar Foundation is an honorary organization of lawyers, judges and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Its Fellows support the research of the ABF through their annual contributions and sponsor programming of direct relevance to leaders of the legal profession.
Membership in The Fellows is limited to one third of 1 percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by Fellows in their jurisdiction and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation.
Rieger is recognized by her clients and peers throughout Oklahoma as an authority on healthcare legal issues. She joined the firm in 1981 and serves as the chair of the firm’s healthcare practice group.
She serves on a number of civic and charitable boards, including the Oklahoma Cerebral Palsy Commission, which operates the J.D. McCarty Center for children with developmental disabilities, and the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma.
Rieger is former adjunct professor of healthcare law at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, past president and current director of the Oklahoma Health Lawyers Association. She has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for healthcare law since 1991 and has been listed in Oklahoma Super Lawyers under health law and top 25 female lawyers in Oklahoma.
