The Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma has elected Crowe & Dunlevy attorney Karen Rieger to serve as president of its board of directors for 2014. Rieger has served on the board of directors for the organization for six years and served as president-elect in 2013.
The foundation’s mission is to procure and build endowment funds while serving as a permanent organization for the management and administration of funds given to the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City for the advancement and expansion of the Roman Catholic Church in central and western Oklahoma. Rieger will serve alongside 27 other board members and officers to help the foundation fulfill this mission.
“Our firm is committed to supporting the communities in which our attorneys live and work, and Karen’s expertise and experience will be a great asset to the foundation,” said Kevin Gordon, president of Crowe & Dunlevy.
Rieger serves as director in the Oklahoma City office of Crowe & Dunlevy and is chair of the firm’s Healthcare practice group. Her practice focuses on representing healthcare institutions and practitioners throughout Oklahoma and surrounding states on a broad range of health law issues. She has experience in structuring numerous acquisitions, joint ventures and contracts involving healthcare providers. She has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 1991and has received the Best Lawyers' 2012 and 2014 Oklahoma City Health Care Law Lawyer of the Year distinction.
Rieger also serves on the board of the Oklahoma Cerebral Palsy Commission, which operates the J.D. McCarty Center for children with developmental disabilities. Rieger received her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
