OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney Michael Laird of Crowe & Dunlevy’s Oklahoma City office has been appointed to serve with various community leaders on the recently formed I-40 Steering Committee. The committee, led by Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett, was created to guide redevelopment planning for the area impacted by the realignment of I-40, further south of downtown and closer to the shore of the Oklahoma River. The committee will meet to develop a plan to maximize the opportunities for economic development in the affected area while taking into account the interests of the area's diverse stakeholders.
Laird is an experienced transaction lawyer, who also focuses his practice in commercial real estate, project development, finance, construction and leasing. A shareholder in the firm, Laird currently leads Crowe & Dunlevy’s real estate and construction industry practice groups. In 2005, he was listed in Best Lawyers in America for real estate law.
“Michael will be a great asset to the committee because of his extensive background in project development, coupled with his sensitivity to varying community perspectives.” commented Crowe & Dunlevy President Brooke S. Murphy. “With his knowledge and expertise I am confident that he will help the committee achieve its vision for downtown Oklahoma City.”
