OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney Michael Laird of Crowe & Dunlevy was elected to serve as the chairman of the board for the Oklahoma City Division, Heartland Affiliate of the American Heart Association. The board oversees all efforts of the philanthropy in the Oklahoma City metro area.
Since 1924, the American Heart Association has helped protect people of all ages and ethnicities from the ravages of heart disease and stroke. These diseases, the nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers, claim more than 910,000 American lives a year. The association invested nearly $474 million in fiscal year 2004-05 for research, professional and public education, advocacy, and community service programs so people across America can live stronger, longer lives.
Laird is an experienced transaction lawyer, specializes in commercial real estate, project development, finance, construction and leasing. A partner in the firm, Laird currently leads Crowe & Dunlevy’s real estate and construction industry practice groups. In 2004, Laird was listed in

“Michael will bring valuable perspective to the board,” Crowe & Dunlevy President Brooke S. Murphy. “His heart for philanthropy and his admirable leadership skills will greatly benefit the American Heart Association, and will most assuredly execute its mission.”
