OKLAHOMA CITY – Crowe & Dunlevy, an Oklahoma-based law firm, announced today that William H. Hoch has been elected as president of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Federal Bar Association for the 2007-2008 term.
The professional organization currently has 326 members, including district and appellate judges, government attorneys, private practitioners and law professors. It facilitates communication between the bar and the federal judiciary and provides education related to federal trial and appellate practice.
Hoch, an attorney and director with Crowe & Dunlevy since 1995, will replace outgoing president Sanford “Sandy” Coats in the role. He will serve as president through Oct. 1, 2008.
"I believe strongly that the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma is the best federal district in the nation in which to practice. From the judges, their staff and the clerk's office to my fellow members of the federal bar, all are outstanding, ethical, cordial and professional in every respect. I am humbled and honored to be chosen by my peers to serve in this position. I am excited about the opportunity to work with our judges and fellow lawyers to further improve an already outstanding federal district,” Hoch said.
Hoch is a graduate of The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1993. Hoch chaired the American Bar Association's Commission on Homelessness & Poverty from 2001 to 2005. He currently serves on the American Bar Association’s Government Affairs Committee and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma County Bar Association. His practice at Crowe & Dunlevy has concentrated on the areas of bankruptcy, commercial litigation, copyright and trademark infringement, and antitrust and related litigation.
