Oklahoma City University School of Law Presents National Summit on Homeland Security Law

Crowe & Dunlevy attorneys to discuss cyberhacking and what the law does, and can do, about it

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Murrah Center for Homeland Security Law & Policy at the Oklahoma City University School of Law is presenting the 2018 National Summit on Homeland Security Law from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, April 19 in McLaughlin Hall at the OCU School of Law campus, 800 N. Harvey Ave.

Sponsored by Crowe & Dunlevy, the annual summit, held in conjunction with the Oklahoma City bombing anniversary, will offer a closer look at cyberhacking and what law does, and can do, about it. Attorneys from the firm’s Criminal Defense, Compliance & Investigations Practice Group as well as others in the field of homeland security law and policy will discuss challenges that face legislators, policymakers and those in the private sector as they confront terrorism and other threats to the homeland.

The agenda includes:

  • 1 p.m.: Welcome/Introduction of keynote speaker
  • 1:15 p.m.: Keynote speaker – David Hickton, founding director of the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Cyber Law, Policy and Security, former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania
  • 2 p.m.: Technology demonstration, overview of hacking tools and phishing example – TriCorps Cybersecurity
  • 3 p.m.: Panel discussion on the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and Permitting Hacking for Testing/Self Defense
  • 4 p.m.: Cyber-incident response plans – Seth Jaffe, LEO General Counsel and Vice President, Incident Response
  • 4:30 p.m.: Panel discussion on Comparative and International Perspectives
  • 5 p.m.: Adjourn
