Brian M. SelfAttorney
Brian Self is an associate in the firm’s Oklahoma City office and supports clients with general litigation matters, both civil and criminal. As a member of the Litigation & Trial, Construction, Product Liability, Administrative & Regulatory, and Criminal Defense, Compliance & Investigations Practice Groups, he has a very diverse practice representing a wide range of clients. His work concentrates on construction disputes, catastrophic injury cases, shareholder disputes in closely held companies, litigation matters related to the oil and gas industry, medical malpractice litigation, representation of healthcare providers in state and federal administrative hearings, as well as related litigation. Prior to joining Crowe & Dunlevy, he gained experience in complex and high stakes civil matters and medical malpractice litigation.
Dedicated to his community, Brian is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Oklahoma Lawyers for Children, a nonprofit organization of volunteer lawyers working with public defenders to represent deprived children in juvenile court.
Brian received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law where he was a Chesapeake Scholar and listed on the Deans Honor Roll. Prior to law school he attended Duke University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at Duke, Brian was a member of the Duke Wrestling Team and was selected to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) All-Academic Wrestling Team and All-ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Representative experience includes*:
- Successfully represented and obtained a dismissal for defendant oil company in a semi-truck accident action alleging negligent loading and transportation of cargo in which Plaintiff was severely injured
- Successfully represented numerous Oklahoma hospitals, nursing homes and dentists in state court against medical malpractice, negligence and wrongful death claims
- Successfully represented college student-athlete who suffered permanent disfigurement due to the negligence of an athletic trainer and university
- Represented majority and minority owners in limited liability companies to prosecute and defend claims for breach of fiduciary duty and/or company mismanagement
- Representing product manufacturers and distributors against product liability and negligence claims alleging catastrophic injury from product defects
- Representing a national trucking company in lawsuit involving wrongful death claims related to a semi-truck accident
- Representing trustees of trusts against claims for breach of fiduciary duty
- Representing a medical supply company against negligence and wrongful death claims
- Representing home health company against claims for negligence and wrongful death claims
- Representing construction company against a municipality in relation to a bid dispute
- Representing multiple construction companies in disputes and litigation involving collections, contract disputes, and issues with general contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors
- Representing medical laboratory company in debt-collection litigation involving a large medical provider
