David Mossman has more than thirty years of experience practicing as an intellectual property attorney. As a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group located in the firm’s Houston office, David assists clients in a broad range of patent transactional and prosecution matters.

Admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, David has prepared and prosecuted several hundred patent applications regarding a variety of specialized environments, including hydrocarbon recovery and industrial treatment, sand control techniques, demulsification and drag reduction. He also has broad patent prosecution experience relating to polymer chemistry, amine chemistry; various catalytic reactions and the catalysts used for same, oxidations; esterifications; and decolorization. Additionally, David possesses extensive infringement, validity and patentability study experience as well as industry experience encompassing integrated circuit processing including ion implantation, diffusion, thin films, etching, isolation, contacts, and interconnect; integrated circuit device designs, including planar and trench devices; and IC packaging.

David received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, graduating with honors from the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at the Cockrell School of Engineering. Prior to joining Crowe & Dunlevy, he was a shareholder at Mossman Kumar & Tyler, P.C. in Houston, TX, and previously served as an in-house patent attorney with Texaco Development Corporation and Motorola, Inc.
