Gary C. ClarkOf Counsel
Gary Clark serves of counsel in the firm’s Tulsa office and a member of the Real Estate and Private Wealth & Closely-Held Business Practice Groups. His practice focuses on estate planning and trust and estate administration for both individuals and closely-held family businesses. He also assists clients in complex real estate matters regarding leasing agreements and title disputes, as well as commercial real estate acquisitions, development, and finance.
Before returning to Crowe & Dunlevy, Gary served as Oklahoma State University’s senior vice president and general counsel for 13 years. Prior to that, he served as vice president and general counsel at the OSU Foundation where he successfully negotiated purchase agreements for 275 separate tracts of land totaling 80 acres for what is now known as the Athletic Village. He also served on the OSU/A&M Board of Regents from 1993 to 2001. In 2024, Gary was inducted into the Oklahoma State University Hall of Fame.
Gary served as President of the Tulsa County Bar Association from 1993 to 1994, and as President of the Oklahoma Bar Association in 2002. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the American Law Institute. Gary has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Trusts and Estates and Bankruptcy Law), and in 1996, he was selected as the Outstanding Senior Lawyer of the Tulsa County Bar Association and received the first TCBA Distinguished Service Award which was then named in his honor. The Oklahoma Bar Association has recognized him with the Maurice Merrill Award twice for outstanding article in the Oklahoma Bar Association Journal, the Golden Gavel Award as Chair of the outstanding committee or task force of the OBA, the President’s Award, the John Shipp Award for Ethics, and the Joe Stamper Distinguished Service Award.
Gary earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oklahoma State University in Agricultural Education, and graduated with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.
