Jim Holloman’s practice focuses on taxation, trusts and estates, corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, ERISA and employee benefits and international business. He has more than 50 years of tax and business experience and has been with the firm for more than 40 years. He serves as a member of the firm’s Taxation, Nonprofit/Charitable Foundations and Employee Benefits & ERISA Practice Groups, among others.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1969, he received his Master of Laws in Taxation from the New York University of Law in 1973. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps Judge Advocate Division from 1969 to 1972.
Jim has been listed for inclusion in Best Lawyers (Tax Law, Trusts & Estates and Employee Benefits) every year since its first publication in 1983 and was named 2012 Oklahoma City Tax Law Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers. He has been lauded as one of Chambers USA Leading Lawyers for Business (Tax), 2004 to present and ranked in Super Lawyers from 2006 to present.* He has published many articles and was a co-author for LexisNexis Oklahoma corporate law treatises. Jim has taught several semester seminar classes about Oklahoma Tax Commission procedures at the University of Oklahoma College of Law as a guest lecturer.
An active member of many organizations, he believes firmly in giving back to the community. He served as president of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation from 2003 – 2006, as a Trustee from 1996 – 2006 and continues to serve as a member of the Foundation’s Investment Committee since 1997. He was an active member of the Board of Education at the Deer Creek Public Schools from 1988 – 1998 and served as President of the Board for three years.
