A shareholder in the firm’s Tulsa office, Roger Butler has more than 35 years of experience assisting clients in need of insurance representation. His practice is concentrated in the area of bad faith and extra-contractual liability cases arising from both third-party and first-party coverage, as well as primary and excess insurance. Roger also represents insurers in complex litigation matters regarding insurance coverage disputes and declaratory judgment actions in both state and federal court, and has argued multiple cases before the Eight and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals. In addition to his litigation practice, Roger regularly provides coverage opinions and mediation of hard to settle cases. He is licensed to practice in the federal and state courts in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
In his professional community, Roger is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel and served as the organization’s president in 2008. He is also a member of the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel and the International Association of Defense Counsel. Roger has been named an Oklahoma Super Lawyer in the practice area of Insurance Coverage since 2010*, and has received an AV Preeminent rating. He is also a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Arkansas Bar Association. Finally, Roger is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
Roger graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Journalism degree before receiving his juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
