2024 OCHRS Annual Legal Update

The Crowe & Dunlevy Labor & Employment Practice Group is proud to host the Oklahoma City Human Resources Society’s (OCHRS) Annual Legal Update taking place at the Will Rogers Theater, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT, Jan. 25, 2024.

Hosted by Jaycee Booth (OCHRS General Counsel), members of the Labor & Employment Practice Group will present, “2024 Legal Update: Getting Legally Fit for the New Year.”

Topics will include:

Today’s Aggressive NLRB and Its High Intensity Interval Program for Employers. | Michael W. Bowling (8:45 – 9:45 am)

Attendees will learn about the National Labor Relations Act and its application to union and non-union workplace. This session will explore recent key precedential decisions from the National Labor Relations Board.This session will also discuss whether and how employers should update their policies and handbooks in light of these decisions.

It was a Marathon, Not a Sprint. A Look Back at 2023 Employment Related Laws. | Allen L. Hutson (10:00 – 11:00 am)
Attendees will learn about 2023 employment law updates. This session will review the Pump Act and the FTC’s proposed rule regarding noncompete clauses. It will also highlight the most recent U.S. Supreme Court Decisions that may impact employers along with other legal issues that arose in 2023.

2024 Gains: A Look Ahead at New Employer Requirements. | Evan Way (11:10 am – 12:10 pm)
In this presentation, Evan will discuss the DOL’s new independent contractor rule set to take effect in March, the FLSA’s proposed rule changes for exempt employees, and accommodations under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Evan will also discuss best practices for the above and how to effectively implement policies for employers.
