Firearms on Hospital Property

On February 27, 2019, Governor Stitt signed into law a bill that will permit persons 21 and older to carry a firearm without a license, subject to the certain requirements, effective November 1, 2019. In light of this new development, it is more important than ever to ensure hospital policies reflect a hospital’s desired position regarding firearm possession on hospital property, and that these policies comply with applicable law.
