Inspired by the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) in Field Assistance Bulletin No. 2020-5, dated August 24, 2020, addresses the difficult task of properly capturing time for employees working remotely, off-site and teleworking. This has been an issue ever since the cell phone/home computer became a part of our daily lives: non-exempt employees, texting and emailing during non-regular hours and not being paid.
