U.S. DOL Announces April 1 Effective Date for FFCRA

Since the recording of our FFCRA Virtual Panel released earlier today, the United States Department of Labor (DOL) issued an official Q&A regarding the new Act.

In the first question, the DOL states that the FFCRA will become effective on April 1, 2020. During our virtual panel, it was stated that the FFCRA would go into effect no later than April 2, 2020. The DOL clarified that the effective date will be April 1, 2020. This effective date applies to both the Emergency Paid Family and Medical Leave provisions and the Emergency Paid Sick Leave provisions. More.
