Alyssa SloanAttorney

Alyssa Sloan is an associate in the firm’s Oklahoma City office assisting clients as a member of the Energy, Environment & Natural Resources and Litigation & Trial Practice Groups.

Alyssa graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she served as President of the Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Chapter of the Black Law Students Association, Co-president of the American Constitution Society, and Articles Editor of the Oil and Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Journal (ONE J). While there, she received several honors including the OBA Energy and Natural Resources Law Section Award, the OBA Environmental Law Section Award, the OU AFAMPS Legacy Builder Award for Outstanding Graduate Student, and American Jurisprudence awards in Oil & Gas Environmental Law and Environmental Law. Additionally, Alyssa was selected into the Order of the Barristers, the Phi Delta Phi legal honor society, and the Dean’s Honor Roll.

Demonstrating leadership aptitude, the BLSA Chapter received NBLSA’s National Small Chapter of the Year Award during her presidency. Alyssa also competed in the NBLSA Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition: receiving the Regional Best Petitioner Brief Award and the Judge Wayne Alley Advocacy Writing Award in 2022, and taking third place overall while winning the Best Petitioner Speaker Award in 2023. Beyond her academic achievements, Alyssa provided over 100 hours of pro bono assistance to organizations. She also gained practical experience serving as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Judge David B. Lewis of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.

Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Letters from the University of Oklahoma. While completing her undergraduate degree, she was a member of Eta Sigma Phi and served as President of the Constitutional Studies Student Association.
