Andy Szuwalski is a director in the firm’s Dallas office and a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group.
From large multinational companies to sole inventors, Andy represents clients in a manner to help them legally protect their intellectual property assets. His practice includes patent preparation and prosecution as well as patent infringement and validity analysis. His technological knowledge pertaining to intellectual property law involves electronic systems, semiconductors and integrated circuits, oil and gas drilling tools electromechanical devices and wired and wireless communication systems.
In addition to technological knowledge, Andy also delves into the specifics of a client’s business and their competition in order to help his clients achieve their goals. Not only is he cognizant of the development and sale of products incorporating a client’s technology, but Andy also advises clients on potential pitfalls and monetization opportunities.
Andy’s intellectual property representation further concerns evaluating the scope of a competitor’s intellectual property rights and assisting clients in challenging the validity and enforceability of the competitor’s IP rights. This includes re-examination or PGR challenges, which can offer clients effective alternatives to litigation.
