How do I assist clients with their disputes and investigations?

I help clients navigate high-stakes disputes by quickly determining the issues that matter most, building the strongest possible record, and keeping clients’ goals at the center of every decision. Whether I’m defending an insurance bad-faith claim, handling a breach of contract matter, advising on a difficult coverage question, or representing an individual facing a government investigation, I listen carefully, uncover all the facts, and develop a strategy that achieves the best results possible.

Teeing up cases for early resolution and, when warranted, trial

Amanda Finch focuses her practice on complex insurance litigation, with a particular emphasis on bad-faith claims. She frequently joins cases at the outset to identify opportunities for dispositive motions and prepares matters for summary judgment by developing the factual record and discovery strategy needed to narrow or eliminate high-exposure claims. Her extensive experience taking and defending depositions, handling discovery disputes, and appearing in both state and federal court allows her to move cases forward efficiently and aggressively—whether that’s around the negotiation table or in the courtroom.

Building strong records through investigation

Drawing on her background in law enforcement, Amanda brings a hands-on investigative approach to litigation. When a claim raises questions of fraud, misrepresentation, or other suspicious circumstances, she often conducts field investigations herself—interviewing witnesses, gathering declarations, and uncovering facts that might otherwise remain hidden. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life frequently helps clients obtain critical information that strengthens their position and supports favorable outcomes.

Guiding insurers through complex claims

In addition to litigation, Amanda advises insurance carriers on coverage determinations and claim-handling decisions before disputes reach the courtroom. She prepares coverage opinions involving challenging factual scenarios, including fire losses, severe weather events, fraud investigations, and other claims involving unique policy provisions. Amanda helps insurers evaluate risk, manage uncertainty, and make informed decisions before litigation arises.

Listening closely to understand clients’ priorities

Amanda also represents individuals in white-collar investigations and criminal matters, primarily in federal court, where her strong writing skills and client-centered approach prove particularly valuable. She takes time to understand each client’s underlying concerns, helping them distinguish between preferred outcomes and realistic objectives while developing strategies aligned with their priorities. Whether preparing persuasive motions, crafting sentencing memoranda that humanize a client, or advising through difficult circumstances, Amanda combines thoughtful advocacy with a practical understanding of what clients need most from their counsel.
