How do I help businesses find their way through financial challenges?

Craig helps businesses and banks seize financial opportunities and navigate financial distress. Clients appreciate Craig’s steady presence during challenging situations. He communicates clearly, thinks creatively, and is results oriented. Craig is the co-chair of Crowe & Dunlevy’s Bankruptcy & Creditor’s Rights Practice Group and its Recruiting Committee.

Helping businesses and lenders navigate financial distress

Craig focuses his practice on business restructuring, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, business transactions, and complex commercial disputes. Whether representing financial institutions, energy companies, business owners, or other stakeholders, Craig focuses on achieving good business results for his clients.

Viewing legal issues through a distinctly business lens

Craig shares his clients’ priorities and mindset, never losing sight of the fact that the issues they are tackling are fundamentally business ones, simply with a legal component. Before recommending a course of action, he takes time to understand what the client is trying to accomplish and what would subjectively constitute success for them.

Drawing on experience in both transactions and litigation

Craig regularly represents debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings,  and a variety of clients with asset acquisitions and divestitures, workouts, and out of court restructurings. Craig also regularly represents financial institutions and other secured creditors in and out of bankruptcy courts to maximize their recoveries from distressed borrowers.  He works closely with clients to understand not only the legal issues at hand, but also the business objectives driving their decisions. His ability to blend legal insight with commercial realities has made him a valued counselor to companies operating in Oklahoma and throughout the region.

Craig’s broad-based practice also includes business transactions, with an emphasis on financing and energy.

Representing clients throughout the region and beyond

Craig has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 2018, including as Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency Lawyer of the Year for 2023.  Since 2023, Craig has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation as a National and Oklahoma Litigation Star.  Craig is on the advisory board of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute and was a member of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Next Gen Class IX, the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Leadership Academy Class IV, and has served as chair of the Oklahoma County Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section.
