How do I help clients with their issues before government bodies?

When I advocate before licensure boards and government agencies, clients can be confident they’ll get the best representation possible. The judges and board administrators respect me and my extensive experience in the government, business, and legal arenas. My reputation for being well-prepared, highly knowledgeable and always honest and direct benefits those I represent in many ways.

Providing seasoned advocacy in administrative and licensure proceedings

Chairing the firm’s Administrative & Regulatory practice group, Elizabeth “Libby” Scott advises healthcare providers and other licensed professionals in state and federal administrative proceedings and in related litigation with insurance companies and other organizations. Libby draws on valuable insights and relationships she forged in her previous role as an assistant attorney general in Oklahoma, where she served as a prosecutor and general counsel for various state agencies in administrative and judicial proceedings. Having worked on the other side, Libby understands the government’s interests and ways of operating. Prior to that, she worked in private practice in the areas of commercial litigation and banking law; her extensive experience also enhances her ability to serve clients in today’s always-evolving legal landscape.

Bringing familiarity with a wide range of public organizations

In addition to guiding businesses and individuals in a variety of federal agency proceedings, Libby handles licensure and disciplinary issues before the following Oklahoma authoritative entities: Medical Board, Board of Nursing, State Board of Pharmacy, Board of Osteopathic Examiners, Board of Examiners in Optometry, Board of Dentistry, Health Care Authority, State Department of Health and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She knows many of the key decision-makers and applies her skills at connecting with people from diverse professional backgrounds and understands the various priorities that influence their decision-making process.

Guiding clients through trying times and getting them back on their feet

When clients endure licensure revocations, disciplinary actions or revoked contracts, they may find that a “domino effect” of negative consequences ensues. Libby reassures them that she’ll be by their side every step of the way, helping them through the difficult parts and assisting them with their business recoveries in every way possible.

Performing her practice with outstanding personal skills

Libby’s skill at “reading” people makes her an exceptional advocate, counselor and negotiator. As a very timely person, she never procrastinates and conducts her client interactions with attentiveness and efficiency, treating those she represents the way she’d like to be treated. Over the course of her career, Libby has built one-on-one relationships with people in a broad spectrum of organizations and always puts a premium on courtesy, professionalism and collaboration.

Handling public sector matters

Libby also serves as an active member of the Healthcare and Criminal Defense, Compliance & Investigations Practice Groups, advising in government affairs and legislative issues.
