How do I help clients with their administrative, healthcare, and cannabis matters?

My clients tell me they like the way I take the time to get to know their business or individual needs in depth so I can fully understand their goals and how we can make the law work for them. I particularly enjoy the fast pace of administrative actions and find it very satisfying to collaborate closely with those I counsel to defend their licenses and secure the best outcomes possible.

Understanding the many contours of both business and government

Representing private-sector organizations and individuals, Emily Isbill advises clients on their regulatory, healthcare and cannabis matters. They include agency rule changes, employment agreements, statute interpretation, general compliance issues and others. She also advises hospitals, health care facilities and medical clinics on their transactional work, including providing counsel on best practices. To help her clients succeed, Emily draws on her extensive knowledge of the challenges commercial enterprises encounter, the ways in which government entities operate, and the criteria regulators use to make decisions.

Tracking the dynamic and fluid statutory ecosystem

Always keeping current with the ever-evolving administrative legal landscape at all levels of government, Emily helps clients navigate the new and revised rules and regulations that affect their businesses and governmental organizations. Clients appreciate that she also surveys activity on the horizon to identify regulatory changes before they actually manifest. With her guidance, this helps them stay out in front of any disruptions or seize new opportunities as they arise.

Bringing confidence, cogency and clarity to the table

Emily provides clients with insightful and strategic representation in licensure and disciplinary issues before a wide range of Oklahoma boards and agencies, including the state’s Medical Board, Board of Nursing, Board of Osteopathic Examiners, Medical Marijuana Authority and Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. In addition, she handles regulatory issues at the federal level.

Steering clients through the legal labyrinth of the cannabis industry

In the cannabis arena, she guides clients on licensure and regulatory procedures and problems. This is a complex and fast-moving industry and those who operate in it rely on Emily’s attention to detail, steady demeanor and willingness to take creative approaches to resolve their issues.

Communicating clearly, advocating persuasively

With a personable yet direct communication style, Emily gives clients clear, honest assessments and the information they need to best protect and further their interests. When it comes to representing clients in proceedings, she treats all parties involved respectfully but, when needed, provides zealous advocacy on behalf of her clients.

Drawing on public service experience and public health higher education

Previously, Emily served as an assistant attorney general in the Legal Counsel Unit of the Office of the Oklahoma Attorney General, where she represented various state administrative agencies as a legal advisor and prosecutor. She holds a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Oklahoma College of Public Health, which enhances her ability to understand and help those clients who operate in the healthcare profession.
