How do I help attorneys prepare for complex litigation?

I try to add value to every situation. To me, that means more than working efficiently and cost-effectively. It means putting forth care and positivity, being proactive, using good judgment and anticipating what attorneys—and clients—will need.

Supporting complex litigation and regulatory matters

Jessica focuses her practice on litigation support, working with attorneys in the Labor & Employment and Cannabis Practice Groups, alongside litigators from other practice areas who need an experienced trial paralegal.  Her responsibilities include document management, discovery, drafting pleadings, legal research, coordinating records from third parties and communicating directly with clients. She also assists cannabis clients with regulatory matters, including licensing renewals and compliance efforts that help keep their businesses operating.

Preparing cases for trial

Jessica has built much of her experience supporting attorneys as cases move toward trial. She organizes exhibits, prepares trial materials, participates in mock jury exercises and manages the many details that go into hearings and trials. Given her fluency in the firm’s various software platforms, attorneys also rely on her for eDiscovery, video preparation and other litigation technology that helps cases run smoothly in the courtroom.

Taking ownership of the details

Jessica approaches every assignment with initiative and discernment. She asks questions, looks beyond the immediate task and keeps the broader picture in mind rather than simply checking items off a list. Before joining the firm, she worked with several of Oklahoma’s leading mediators and arbitrators and assisted in civil litigation—experience that strengthened her understanding of litigation and dispute resolution and continues to shape how she supports her teams.
