How do I help legal teams and clients with probate and other related matters?
Bringing an organized, steady approach to my work as a paralegal, I support Crowe Dunlevy’s Private Wealth & Closely Held Business Practice Group. As I build my experience in the role, I work closely with attorneys to prepare estate planning and probate documents, assist with pleadings and real estate matters, and help keep client matters moving forward. I particularly enjoy the opportunity to learn from experienced attorneys while contributing to the team’s work on behalf of our clients.
Supporting probate and estate planning matters
Macalah’s work centers primarily on the probate process, where she assists with drafting pleadings, letters and other documents and helps ensure clients have current filed documents and updates. She also supports matters involving real estate documents and deeds, developing her knowledge of the terminology, procedures and requirements that shape this work.
Drawing on a foundation in organization and writing
Organization ranks among Macalah’s greatest strengths, helping her manage deadlines, keep matters on track, and make sure necessary information and documents are where they need to be. Her academic background in applied sociology, with an emphasis in law, crime and social justice, also strengthened the writing skills she now applies to her work as a paralegal.
Maintaining a calm, dependable presence
Before becoming a paralegal, Macalah worked in a conflicts role supporting the firm’s Oklahoma City, Dallas and Houston offices, an experience that gave her exposure to a wide range of legal matters and the importance of careful attention to potential conflicts. Her earlier experience as a police department dispatcher likewise taught her to remain calm and focused when circumstances become demanding—qualities that now serve her well when managing deadlines and competing priorities.
