How do I help clients navigate workplace challenges?
I approach every employment matter by first listening carefully, understanding what the client needs to accomplish and then giving them a practical, thorough analysis of the issues they face. My goal is to help clients make informed decisions quickly, particularly when an employment decision involves competing legal, business and human considerations. I take that same approach to mediation, where I see my role not simply as helping parties reach a settlement but as giving them an experienced, objective perspective on their case.
Bringing decades of employment experience to difficult decisions
Randall Snapp draws on nearly four decades of experience in labor and employment law, workers’ compensation and litigation to counsel employers and management through complex workplace issues. His experience encompasses wage-and-hour matters, discrimination claims, federal employment protections, workers’ compensation retaliation and general workers’ compensation matters, as well as the litigation that can follow.
Assessing the circumstances from every angle
Randall approaches employment counseling with an emphasis on thorough, prompt evaluation. For example, when an employer faces a difficult termination decision—particularly involving an employee with protected status arising from an injury, workers’ compensation claim, FMLA leave or another employment protection—Randall weighs the strengths and weaknesses of the situation, identifies the risks, and helps the client determine what information and considerations should guide the decision. His objective is not to tell a client simply to proceed or not to proceed, but to give the client a clear understanding of what could happen and why so the client can make the decision.
Providing a practical perspective in mediation
Randall increasingly focuses his practice on mediation by drawing on his years of counseling and litigation experience to help parties evaluate employment and workers’ compensation disputes, among others. Rather than beginning with an exchange of numbers, he talks with the parties about their cases, asks probing questions, and offers an assessment of the issues he sees as most important. Even when a dispute doesn’t settle, Randall strives to ensure that participants leave with a clearer understanding of their position, the problems they need to address, and the steps that could improve their prospects for resolution.
Replying with alacrity, receiving recognition
Responsiveness remains central to Randall’s client service delivery. He makes a point of returning calls promptly, finding solutions as quickly as possible, and connecting clients with another Crowe Dunlevy lawyer when a matter calls for more specialized knowledge.
A recipient of numerous professional honors, Randall has earned repeated recognition from Best Lawyers as a Lawyer of the Year in labor and employment-related categories and has received longstanding peer recognition for his employment law practice.
