How do I help clients with their complex litigation?

I enjoy untangling complicated disputes and helping clients find a path through them. Whether the matter involves a large organization or an individual facing significant uncertainty, I focus on understanding the facts, identifying what matters most, and moving the case forward in a practical, efficient way.

Drawing on extensive government litigation experience

Galen Thorp represents clients in complex litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels. His practice spans commercial disputes, regulatory matters, ERISA-related litigation and other high-stakes cases in federal and state courts. Before joining Crowe Dunlevy, he spent more than 16 years with the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served as lead counsel in significant administrative and regulatory challenges and prepared hundreds of briefs addressing complex legal and constitutional issues.

Mastering the facts and designing the strategy

Galen particularly enjoys digging into complicated records, identifying the most important facts, and developing the legal strategies needed to secure an optimal outcome. Whether working on a major banking dispute, a civil fraud case or other complex litigation, he concentrates on distilling large volumes of information into clear, persuasive arguments and pragmatic next steps for clients.

Building collaborative relationships

Always taking a collaborative approach, Galen works closely with clients, colleagues and co-counsel throughout the life of a case, and often beyond. He values teamwork, open communication and steady progress toward shared goals. Clients appreciate his accessibility, responsiveness and willingness to work through challenges together, whether they’re confronting significant business concerns or navigating litigation with potentially life-changing consequences.

Providing clear analysis and strong advocacy

Galen’s experience handling sophisticated government litigation sharpened his ability to analyze complex legal questions, write concise and effective briefs, and zero in on the issues most likely to influence an outcome. He takes pride in cutting through distractions, getting to the heart of a dispute, and presenting courts with clear, well-supported arguments.

Bringing a broad perspective to client service

Having spent much of his childhood living in South Asia and the Caribbean, Galen developed an appreciation for different cultures, backgrounds, perspectives (and cuisines!) at an early age. That experience continues to shape the way he works with clients and colleagues today, helping him build strong relationships and communicate effectively with people from a wide range of experiences.
