Crowe Dunlevy Secures Summary Judgment Victories in Multi-Million Dollar Commercial Lending Dispute

Sep 24, 2026

Crowe Dunlevy represented JPMorgan Chase Bank in a complex commercial loan default litigation involving competing multi-million dollar claims and counterclaims. In a significant pretrial ruling, the court granted summary judgment in favor of JPMorgan on its affirmative claims, including breach of contract, and also granted summary judgment on the borrower’s counterclaims, including claims for breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing and abuse of process. The court further denied the opposing party’s motion for summary judgment in its entirety. The ruling substantially advanced JPMorgan’s position in the litigation, eliminated all asserted counterclaims, and narrowed the remaining issues in this hard-fought commercial dispute.
