How do I help clients through every step of an aircraft purchase and registration?
Aircraft transactions move quickly, and I strive to ensure that my clients can keep pace and both literally and figuratively fly. For two decades, I have guided aircraft transactions from the initial title search through closing and registration, handling the details that allow an aircraft to move from purchase to operation without unnecessary delay.
Keeping aircraft transactions moving accurately and efficiently
For both commercial and private clients – including businesses, individuals and fractional owners – Leslie Lamb assists attorneys with aviation title and finance, handling transactions from the initial examination of FAA records through closing and registration. She searches FAA aircraft and engine records for liens and other issues, prepares title and status memoranda, and helps prepare the documents needed to clear liens and other title issues. She also coordinates bills of sale, registration applications and other closing documents, as well as FAA document filing and title search and clearing procedures.
Handling FAA and International Registry filings for domestic and international transactions
Leslie serves as a liaison between clients and the FAA and assists with registrations and other filings on the International Registry, including producing and submitting transacting user entity applications. She handles transactions closing in the United States as well as transactions closing in other countries. Her work also includes obtaining temporary certificates of registration, or “fly-wires,” when an aircraft needs to remain in operation while certain paperwork is still in process.
Understanding, and responsive to, the need for speed
Leslie gained much of her early experience working for Preston G. “Gil” Gaddis II who built the Firm’s Aviation Practice Group from the ground up and became a nationally recognized expert on commercial aircraft financing, and she carried forward his trademark emphasis on efficiency and responsiveness. Those qualities are particularly important when a client is dealing with an aircraft that, for whatever reason, cannot afford to just sit in the hangar.
