How do I counsel and advocate for clients in their commercial and civil disputes?
I enjoy helping clients solve challenging problems by combining thorough preparation with prudent judgment and clear communication. Whether I’m handling a high-stakes commercial dispute, conducting a sensitive investigation, or preparing for trial, my focus remains the same: distill complex issues into a persuasive, straightforward strategy to position clients for the best possible result.
Building on extensive courtroom experience
Drawing on years of litigating cases, Wilson McGarry represents businesses, governmental entities and individuals in complex business and commercial cases, appellate litigation, white collar matters, attorney-led investigations and high-impact civil disputes. His practice includes litigating fraud and breach of contract claims, complex construction cases, mass-casualty matters, products liability and warranty disputes, along with oil and gas litigation, where he represents one of Oklahoma’s largest companies in the industry.
Bringing a prosecutor’s perspective to client matters
Before entering private practice, Wilson served for more than a decade as an Assistant United States Attorney, where he tried numerous federal jury trials to verdict, argued multiple cases before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and led investigations involving fraud, organized crime, violent crime and other significant federal offenses. That experience continues to shape his legal work today, allowing him to anticipate opposing strategies, quickly identify key issues, and apply a disciplined investigative and prosecutorial mindset to litigation.
Simplifying complex cases, often by crafting innovative strategies
Wilson enjoys tackling new legal challenges and developing creative solutions to difficult problems. He approaches every matter by establishing the central story that will resonate with judges, juries and clients alike, stripping away unnecessary complexity while preserving the facts that matter most. Whether preparing a witness, drafting a brief, or delivering an argument in court, he strives to communicate complicated legal issues in plain, persuasive language.
Preparing clients for every possibility
Years of courtroom experience have taught Wilson that no trial unfolds exactly as planned. Thorough preparation allows him to think quickly when unexpected developments arise, adapt strategy in real time, and maintain steady advocacy throughout the litigation process. He also believes strong client relationships begin with honest conversations, preferring to speak with clients personally at the outset of a matter to build trust, fully understand their objectives, and foster clear communication from the beginning.
Earning recognition while continuing to serve
The recipient of prestigious awards, including being named a William J. Holloway Scholar, Wilson has earned recognition throughout his career for both his legal ability and public service. His honors also include being named the 2024 Region 1 Association of Oklahoma Narcotics Enforcers Prosecutor of the Year for leading a major Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force prosecution.
