Muskogee Area Human Resources Association Law Seminar

Members of the Labor & Employment Practice Group will headline the Muskogee Area Human Resources Association (MAHRA) Law Seminar, happening 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, Oct. 8 at the Indian Capital Technology Center in Muskogee, Okla.

OSHA’s Vaccine Mandate: What it Means for Employers | presented by Michael R. Pacewicz
In this presentation, attendees will learn whether they will be subject to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s forthcoming vaccine mandate, how to deal with requests for accommodations to the vaccine requirement and whether legal challenges to the mandate are likely to succeed.

You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello: How to Avoid Legal Pitfalls in the Hiring and Firing Process | presented by Caroline G. Lindemuth
Attendees will learn how to utilize the application process to identify bad applicants along with hiring practices to avoid in order to limit legal liability. Participants will also be provided an overview of what to do before terminating an employee who did not work out.

FMLA, FLSA and OSHA Case Review & Best Practices | presented by Madalene A.B. Witterholt
This interactive session will include a review of real-life case scenarios regarding best practices for complying with FLSA, OSHA, TItle VII and FMLA laws. Attendees will learn how to be prepared in advance, different ways to deal with and the inherent risks involved with each scenario and solutions (what the court said).
