Crowe Dunlevy successfully obtained a complete jury verdict for a Canadian oilfield services company, its U.S. subsidiary, and four executive officers in a Colorado employment dispute involving claims for unpaid wages, retaliation, breach of contract, promissory estoppel, unjust enrichment, civil theft, and other employment-related causes of action. The former executive plaintiff initially sought damages exceeding $18 million, later reduced to approximately $6 million following the Firm’s successful summary judgment efforts. Throughout years of contentious litigation, the defense team prevailed on significant pretrial motions that narrowed the claims for trial and positioned the case for a favorable outcome. After a week-long jury trial in Denver, the jury returned a verdict in favor of all defendants, rejecting the plaintiff’s remaining claims and eliminating substantial financial exposure for the company and its leadership team.
