EEO-1 Reporting: The Lingering Effects of the Obama Administration

Private employers that have more than 100 employees are subject to yearly EEO-1 reporting. [Note: There are other less common instances in which an employer may be covered by EEO-1 reporting requirements that are not discussed in this advisory. If you are unsure about coverage, please seek legal advice]. These covered employers are required to report demographic data such as sex, race and ethnicity by job category. The underlying purpose of this reporting requirement is to permit the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to readily identify employers that may be engaged in discriminatory practices. [Note: The typical EEO-1 reporting requirements for 2018 must be filed by May 31, 2019, i.e., demographic data such as sex, race and ethnicity by job category]. More.
