Lewis LeNaire is a shareholder in the firm’s Oklahoma City office. As a member of the Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Practice Group, Lewis represents energy industry clients in complex business litigation in state and federal courts. His comprehensive energy practice includes successfully representing companies across a variety of energy related matters including seismicity litigation, post-production cost and royalty underpayment disputes, joint operating agreement and COPAS disputes, lease cancellation and quiet title actions, surface damage and landowner disputes, and pipeline condemnations and easement rights disputes.
Outside of his energy practice, Lewis also serves firm clients in general litigation matters as a member of the Appellate and Litigation & Trial Practice Groups. His experience includes:
- Representation of municipal bodies and state governmental entities in disputes concerning city council elections, water rights, and administrative due process;
- Representation of commercial property owners in disputes with property and title insurers concerning scope of coverage; and
- Representation of industrial manufacturers and suppliers in litigation involving alleged benzene and asbestos exposure.
Active in the legal community, Lewis is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society. He has been admitted to practice in the Oklahoma Supreme Court and all Oklahoma District Courts, as well as the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Western, Northern, and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma. Professionally, he has been ranked by Best Lawyers in the area of Oil & Gas Law, and in Oklahoma Super Lawyers in Energy & Natural Resources and Business Litigation.
Lewis graduated summa cum laude from the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2011, and earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English from the University of Central Oklahoma. Prior to entering law school, he worked as a legislative analyst for the Oklahoma State Senate.
